The four colors are hand-printed one by one to create this traditional Swedish Christmas motif. Then a thin cotton band is sewn around the mat. Everything in our print shop in Jämtland, Sweden.
The Christmas goat made of straw is an old Swedish tradition. It was the goat that brought the gifts before the world had managed to locate Santa Claus, who then had to take over the goat's Christmas gig.

This rug is hand-printed on jute, which is sensitive to moisture. This means that the carpet cannot be washed in water.
Iron the carpet but hot iron without steam. Feel free to store the rug in the tube and it will last for many generations.
