Laura – a new pattern by Emma von Brömssen

We are proud to present Laura – a new hand-printed pattern by designer Emma von Brömssen , exclusively for Frösö Handtryck. Laura is a pattern that stands for balance: between the classic and the contemporary, between the organic and the graphic.

A pattern based on linoleum

Laura has its origins in a hand-cut linoleum print. This gives the surface pattern its lively structure, its slight movement, its charm. It is precisely this handmade character that makes Laura so easy to like. The leaf-shaped motif is repeated rhythmically across the surface, without becoming rigid – each leaf is similar, but not identical.

The design serves as a calm and decorative base and complements Emma's previous, more narrative patterns. The idea is for Laura to be a pattern to live with, to combine, to return to.

“Laura is a decorative surface pattern that works with most large-scale and more narrative patterns. The original pattern is created with linoleum printing, which gives it its unique character and variation. The leaf-shaped pattern feels both organically classic and graphically new,” says Emma.

Handprinted in Jämtland

As always, the pattern is printed using traditional screen printing techniques in our printing house in Jämtland – a craft we have refined since 1946. Laura is printed on an exclusive Belgian pure linen and is available in two colors:
Deep blue – a sober, elegant choice
Natural green – earthy and calm

The collection is launched as a piece of fabric and pillowcase in 50 x 50 cm .
