LOTTA KÜHLHORN
Colors and patterns are graphic designer Lotta Kühlhorn's passion. The kitchen at home is pink and the properly sized handbags are always extraordinary. A shelf paper from the 70s, a thread-worn but oh-so-beautiful curtain, a beloved shell box - all serve as sources of inspiration for Lotta, who mainly works with book design but also makes illustrations and patterns.
Lotta Kühlhorn is one of Sweden's most beloved designers. She is part of our everyday life. Her designs can be found almost everywhere: from patterns on fabrics and household items, to book covers you have on your shelf.
PERGOLA
"My grandmother's sister Märta had a nice little pergola at her summer house, there was a trellis for climbing plants that I remember very much like this pattern. I also thought about chair seats, wicker and rattan, baskets and weaving.
It was fun to combine different colors. Green tape on yellow paper. Blue tape on red paper, or how about green tape on pink paper? The variations are endless, just like the colors of the trellis and the sky in Märta's pergola during the different hours of the day."

SHOCKS IN THE MOON
"I like artichokes a lot. Both because it's festive to eat but also because of the way the large plant looks. The contrasts between the spiky, almost dangerous leaves and the lumpy, tightly held stalk that almost looks like a flower.
From the beginning I painted them in black on green-blue, hence the name "Skockar i mønsken", but here I have let them bloom in strong colors that I really like."
